Soul Food Du Jour…
I was watching a guest on the Beat with Ari Melber ( one of my favs on MSNBC) and he stated that we ALL are basically reacting out of fear regarding what’s happening in our nation and perhaps globally. He tried to put a scientific twist on it by bringing the frontal cortex ( portion of our brains) into the mix.
I take issue with this as I see it as a subtle way to remain in denial of the truth as it is. If you think that I am wrong, I invite you to have a dialogue.
So this is my response…
…true believers do not respond to what’s happening all around us ( our personal lives, our nation and/or globally) out of fear; WE RISE UP…and respond in LOVE, POWER AND SOUNDNESS OF MIND ( especially in our frontal cortex) because we are being transformed on a daily basis by the renewal of minds ( via the Word of God) and presenting our bodies as living sacrifices, Holy as acceptable unto God for this is our reasonable service.
So please in your pompous attitude and refusal to accept the truth (spoken in love, power, and soundness of mind ) DO NOT try to twist it otherwise!
God is still reaching out to us all, and He is still admonishing is to humble ourselves and pray, to seek His face and TURN FROM ( repent) our wicked ways ( injustice, robberies, and wrong doings).
2 Chronicles 7:14-15
if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place.
“For I, the Lord, love justice;
I hate robbery and wrongdoing.
In my faithfulness I will reward my people
and make an everlasting covenant with them.
A Living Sacrifice
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is —his good, pleasing and perfect will.
2 Timothy 1:7
For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.
