It’s Complicated…

We have all heard that God is Love … however, how does the deity of that Love express itself regarding us?

God is the only judge…yet I see us as believers and non- believers alike wanting to step in to judge others especially as it pertains to homosexuals.

It’s complicated when you try to put it into perspective…

On homosexuality… it pains me to a great deal lately when I think about the hateful words and acts done towards homosexuals and/ or the LGBTQ Community as a whole ( Lord knows that I’ve been guilty, just one of the many things that God is dealing with me about). I have loved ones and friends of loved ones within the LGBTQ Community and it is really starting to hurt my heart more and more when I reflect on the pain that they may have experienced from ” church folks in particular” and society in general. My most sincerest prayer to God has been for me to be vessel for God to love through, and yet I find myself guilty of being very critical at numerous times to the LGBTQ Community in particular. My sincere apologies to anyone that I might offended in the past. Please be patient with me- He will always be working on me as long as I’m on this side of Jordan- sincerely trying to understand-

I’ve said for the longest and still affirm that God really does hate the sin but loves the sinner , especially as it pertains to the LGBTQ Community,

Based on my reflection on this scripture over the years, I’ve come to realize now more than ever before that we can never truly know what is in a person’s heart – especially what’s at the core.

We are all aware that for the most part people have two faces – the one that is shown to the world in general ( masked) and the face we have when we think no one’s looking and we’re alone with our innermost thoughts and God.

The movie “It’s Complicated” which starred Meryl Streep and Alec Baldwin ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1230414/) touched lightly on this inner wrestling that we all experience to some to varying degrees.

I firmly believe that the shadow personality is more indicative of our real selves, (our inner – beings)- our heart. And this is the component of our total personality that God especially responds to. It’s the nonverbal prayers, pleas, cries that come from the very depths of our beings that causes Him to become more attentive and lean in more. However, we as “mere humans” cannot see this component with our naked eyes – only God can.

One thing that I find ironic regarding this whole thing regarding bashing homosexuals is that there seems to be a segment of the LGBTQ Community that sincerely wants to please God by expressing their love for one another in a committed relationship i.e. marriage- and yet I see that the majority of their critics, accusers, bashers are the ones who are not in a committed relationship such as marriage- that they commit sins that fall under the umbrella of sexual immorality such as fornication, and adultery- yet they think that they can justifiably judge someone else- hmmm!

Romans 3:23

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

All have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Some of us view pornography, lie, steal , are corrupt, greedy and so on. All of these are outward offenses that we can pick up in the physical realm, however at the end of the day… when it’s just us and God,

only God can discern and interpret our inner wrestlings.

Like I said – it’s complicated- but not really… simple choose to Love regardless–

Matthew 22:37-40

Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” 😘🙏🏾🇱🇷

Trump is behaving erratically and that a very dangerous place for us to be.

Bottom line – his peace of mind = our peace of mind.

I am like Mary J Blige- ” no more drama”

I’ve had enough drama in my life to last a lifetime–I don’t want no more!

However, I realize that there’s a lot of us as a whole that do like ( if not love) drama hence the popularity of the reality shows and the drama that comes with them. And this weekend promises to provide us with plenty more… between the March for Our Lives and the Stephanie Clifford (aka Stormy Daniels) interview with 60 Minutes set to air this Sunday evening; just two headliners for this weekend – and who knows what else may come!

A lot of people are speculating and some are actually predicting based on a pattern and previous tendencies, that Trump will try to distract us from all of the drama that is centered around him and also causing him and those around him a lot of anxiety. We’re bracing ourselves in anticipation of some major announcements and/ or some more firings–who knows? 💁🏾

With everything that has happened up to this point – I and I hope at the very least – a handful of others – are concerned enough to put the aside the drama and seriously pray for his peace of mind. Like it or not- for the time being at least ( am I not trying to rush to have him replaced by Pence, as far as I’m concerned…the whole lot needs to go) – his actions DO affect us all!

So I would like to plea and strongly encourage you to resist the temptation to give into the fear and/or drama and pray for his peace of mind, this weekend especially and going forward. 😘🙏🏾🇱🇷

A Living Sacrifice

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is —his good, pleasing and perfect will.

It goes to what I shared in the FB live post the other day ( see link below) about knowing the Word of God for yourself in order to know His will regarding direction individually and collectively.

One Purpose, One Plan …That’s It!

God only gives each individual one purpose, one assignment for their brief time on earth. Regardless of whether or not the enemy tries to steal one’s purpose – he may come up with a counterfeit(s); modified version(s) but it can’t touch God’s original plan and intent for that individual’s purpose!

Jeremiah 1:5

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,

before you were born I set you apart;

I appointed you as a prophet to the nations. ”

The counterfeit may look similar to God’s original plan/design; however if you look closer you can detect the discrepancies. The majority of the time – the counterfeit version will be void of God’s message altogether or incorporate a watered down version of His message.

Just like each individual’s thumbprint is unique, so too is each individual’s assignment/ purpose.

God uses an individual’s total personality- their thoughts, their experiences and especially their God- given gifts – all attribute to their unique expression that God initially impresses mon that unique purpose/ assignment before the foundations of the world and how it plays out( manifests) during the course of that individual’s time on earth.

God is an initiator and is proactive; He is NOT going to react by changing His plans every time based on the enemy’s tactics( stealing, killing nor destroying) – i.e. shenanigans. God is the same yesterday, today and forevermore!

One’s purpose /assignment and one’s person’s dream are NOT one and the same. Purpose originates from God- a dream(s) is originates from man. Therefore a person’s purpose will not change – however a person’s dream may change based on external forces , situations and/or circumstances.

Some Clarification…on Prophecy vs Prediction

2 Peter 1:20-21

Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things. For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

So recently a lot of increased insinuations (shade) has been thrown my way regarding my so- called predictions regarding the 2016 Elections… with the upcoming elections and all, I thought it was important to clarify somethings …

What is Prophecy? The Bible’s Answer

A prophecy is a message inspired by God, a divine revelation. The Bible says that prophets “spoke from God as they were moved by the Holy Spirit”

I do not consider myself as one who predicts ; rather it is my heart’s desire to be a pure and true vessel for God’s use and ultimately His Glory.

Psalms 24:3-4

Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord?

Who may stand in his holy place? The one who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not trust in an idol or swear by a false god.

There are times when He drops a message on my heart to share, mainly warnings about what’s to come if we His Body ( Body of Christ) does not repent from our wickedness.

2 Chronicles 7:14-15

if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place.

So whenever I am sharing a message from God I just come out and actually say it- i.e. “thus says the Lord”, the Lord placed this on my heart to share, etc. However, I honestly DO NOT remember ever saying anything like this regarding the 2016 Elections. Like a lot of others, I strongly believed that Hilary would win because it made sense to me simply because of what I saw and how it aligned with the Word of God from MY PERSPECTIVE – clear line of Love (1Cor13) vs hate! Even if God was trying to tell me otherwise , His message had to go through a lot of filtering because that’s how strong my belief in Hilary’s victory was. Again, I never came out of my mouth and said “God said that Hilary would win” and therefore I repeat- I don’t predict- I am simply a vessel who relays messages from God (prophesy) as He leads!

Therefore, please do not mock God by devaluing His gifts to the level of mere predictions nor psychic capabilities among other things. I know that there are secular definitions amongst others who have erroneously equated prophecy with predictions; however that is simply not the case.

Ephesians 4:11-13

So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

So Mika Brzezinka (MSNBC) and the many others – I hope this helps to clarify some things for you . If I’m wrong in anyway as it pertains to any insinuations on your part, my badd- however, if I’m correct in my assumptions regarding the implications- then please stop!

Thank you to everyone who prayed and are still praying for me, I felt your prayers Tuesday evening and throughout yesterday when I needed them the most. Some of you may be aware that I received a gut- wrenching attack from the enemy the other evening… I will not go into details now, still praying about the matter and manner of how everything went down in addition to praying for the grace to love and therefore sincerely pray ( intercede ) on the behalf of everyone that was involved…

… however, your prayers, smiles of encouragement and the overall warmth that I received really touched my heart! ❤️ Most importantly it encouraged me to the degree that I see that despite of all the chaos and ugliness going on within the nation, world today; despite the very tactics that the enemy uses to distract us from truly seeing and connecting with God– an increasing amount of you are starting to see things for what they really are! This truly gives me wind beneath my wings …

Some of you are still blinded – however, that’s okay- the love is still real and forever will be here for you. ❤️❤️❤️

A Prayer for the Ephesians

For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. Love, Power and Soundness of Mind

Soul Food Du Jour…

I was watching a guest on the Beat with Ari Melber ( one of my favs on MSNBC) and he stated that we ALL are basically reacting out of fear regarding what’s happening in our nation and perhaps globally. He tried to put a scientific twist on it by bringing the frontal cortex ( portion of our brains) into the mix.

I take issue with this as I see it as a subtle way to remain in denial of the truth as it is. If you think that I am wrong, I invite you to have a dialogue.

So this is my response…

…true believers do not respond to what’s happening all around us ( our personal lives, our nation and/or globally) out of fear; WE RISE UP…and respond in LOVE, POWER AND SOUNDNESS OF MIND ( especially in our frontal cortex) because we are being transformed on a daily basis by the renewal of minds ( via the Word of God) and presenting our bodies as living sacrifices, Holy as acceptable unto God for this is our reasonable service.

So please in your pompous attitude and refusal to accept the truth (spoken in love, power, and soundness of mind ) DO NOT try to twist it otherwise!

God is still reaching out to us all, and He is still admonishing is to humble ourselves and pray, to seek His face and TURN FROM ( repent) our wicked ways ( injustice, robberies, and wrong doings).

Isaiah 61:8

“For I, the Lord, love justice;

I hate robbery and wrongdoing.

In my faithfulness I will reward my people

and make an everlasting covenant with them.

The Anglo-Saxon people that first came over here on the Mayflower and stole this land from the Native Americans, I consider them as undocumented. There was no money exchanged at that time, they just fought their way and stole. Therefore, they were undocumented criminals who migrated here.

Regarding the African Diaspora, there was money exchanged between the same White- Anglo Saxons and certain African tribes that sold their African captives at the time. Yet money was exchanged for those Africans to cross the Atlantic and to work this land, build this country on their backs. There was plenty of documentation that took place during this period (slave trade) as records were meticulously kept as it pertained to auctions that were conducted and the slave owners and their slaves that they kept and traded amongst each other. Therefore the Native Americans and the Africans were the only two groups of people that were here “legally”.

Chain Migration actually started with this same group of Anglo-Saxons , many generations later, here were are.

So who are you , White- Anglo Saxons ( Trump supporters) to have the audacity to say that you have the right to determine who gets to go and who gets to stay! To me, you’re no better than the “bad hombres” that you say that you’re trying to protect us from. Who protected the Native Americans from you?

When was the last time you heard a reference to the biblical story about Abraham, Isaac and the ram in the bush? It’s been a long time since God has placed it on my heart; or that I have heard any reference in general.

Today is Ash Wednesday , in the Christian faith it marks the beginning of the Lenten season; the 40 day period ( as a symbol and reminder of the 40 days that Moses spent on Mount Sinai communing with God, received the Ten Commandments and that Jesus spent fasting in the wilderness after His baptism ) that preceded the celebration of Resurrection Sunday.

Many people have always referenced and/or tied this story ( Ram in the bush) in terms of God’s provision ; this is true to the extent that God provided His sacrifice as an outcome of Abraham passing the test of faith that God had just presented to him. However, the real essence of this story ( and the Lenten season) is the willingness to sacrifice the one true thing ( in this case – person) we love as a testament of our love for, our willingness to sacrifice and obey God. God made provision ( in this case a substitute for the sacrifice itself- Isaac- in the form of a Ram) only After he saw the depth of Abraham’s love for Him, and the depth of his faith – enough to be willing to trust and obey Him even when he was not presented with any answers.

Genesis 22:12-13

“Do not lay a hand on the boy,” he said. “Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son. ”Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son.

As you may recall, God had promised Abraham and Sarah a son in their old age; Abraham was 75 years old when God promised him Isaac. Sarah and Abraham had to wait 25 years for their promise of their seed (Isaac) to be fulfilled. Abraham and Sarah were well in age- they were OLD; Sarah thought the idea of having a child as old as she was ( eggs all dried up) that she literally laughed at the notion. It got to a point that it was taking so long for the promise to manifest that Sarah took things into her own hands ( with Abraham’s full cooperation) by giving Abraham her hand maid / servant/slave- Hagar- to bare a seed on their own; Ishmael was the result.

To finally have their promise fulfilled, they really adored Isaac -only for God to turn around and ask them to give him back? Literally give him up by sacrificing him — REALLY?

I’m sure Abraham had to dig deep into his core in order for him to stir up the level of faith that required him to trust and obey God to the extent that he did.

I also believe that this is something that God wants us to reflect on as we approach lent. I also firmly believe that the Lenten season’s purpose is to help us to remember God’s ultimate sacrifice- His Son Jesus.

As a covenant with us – His believers- He’s asking us to what level are we willing to sacrifice , to trust and to obey. 😘🙏🏾

When they reached the place God had told him about, Abraham built an altar there and arranged the wood on it. He bound his son Isaac and laid him on the altar, on top of the wood. Then he reached out his hand and took the knife to slay his son. But the angel of the Lord called out to him from heaven, “Abraham! Abraham!”

“Here I am,” he replied.

“Do not lay a hand on the boy,” he said. “Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son. ”

Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”

Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down. For it is written:

“‘He will command his angels concerning you,

and they will lift you up in their hands,

so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’”

Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’”

Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.”

Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’”

Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him.
